Doing my YouTubing and I was reminded how lucky we are to live in an age where everyone seems to have access to high-definition video cameras and stereo microphones. The sound could still use some work with the occasional peaking et al., but these are good times.
I occasionally look up older stuff from around 2008-ish and prior. Shocking stuff from that era. Not as good sound, black vertical bars, lower quality video... That was the year I started getting into photography and my point and shoot did NOT come with HD video. In fact, I think it was limited to a non-widescreen aspect ratio. The base-ish model consumer compact camera I got in 2012 had HD built in and produced pretty good pictures. What a difference a few years makes.
And my other new camera is already obsolete...
