A few days ago, I went to check on some old posts and one of them was concerning a great looking briefcase from Roots. What I noticed was that when I clicked on the link to the Roots site, there was a message saying that it was sold out. I only noticed the bag listed on the Roots website in late-May, and it was delisted by very early-July. Quite possible, this item sold out within a month.
It's king of back now, but no longer in black. The new Roots New City Briefcase-Box is now available in Tribe leather, which is a light tan/brown color. This bag appears to be identical to the black colored one that I wrote about before and costs CAD$ 378.00 -- black one was $398.00.
I'm a bit torn: the tan doesn't look as professional, but it adds a certain charm to an otherwise very professional looking briefcase. It feels like the tan tones down the bag and may make it more "acceptable" for casual, everyday use.
Check it out. There's a chance it may not be around for longer than a month!
