Electric Hot Water Kettle |
More water and heat, the hot stuff. I've done a "regular" kettle on an electric stove surface before, so why not try a different type of kettle? This is a video of an electric hot water dispenser type kettle. I've had experience with a few of these types of kettles over the years. I don't think they were really well insulated and ran the re-boil cycle a few times a day -- their outsides were usually pretty warm to the touch, if I remember right. Can't say I'm a big fan of the idea of running this thing 24/7, 365 days a year when it's only used a few times a day. Using the stove doesn't seem to take that long for me. But it's not mine, so can't really do anything about it. These things are convenient though.
Anyways, in this video, the top is opened momentarily and water is pumped out into a bowl. I think this particular device used an electric pump because the water came out at the press of a button and there may have been a motor sound. We've had one that used a hand pump to get water out. That was an exciting model.
