Mashing the water into the carpet |
Blended regular camera footage and infrared for the first time. Unfortunately, they're from opposite angles. The water was filmed being dropped using the IR camera, but it was in the corner of the shot and didn't come out well, so I just took it out all together.
This is just about an ounce of water from the cold water tap being spilled onto a synthetic carpet. The carpet was completely dry beforehand, so it does show up against the solid background quite well. It shows up even better after the water is mashed in and moved around with a foot -- that felt more annoying than disgusting. Clearly, it shows up as a darker color and many of the smaller droplets that bounced around are visible. I just spread the water out a bit more and let it dry on its own after everything was done. It was just water, so I didn't think much of it.
