Ugh, not again. I fell asleep at work. It's not as bad as it sounds, it was only for an hour at the end of the day. In fact, it was 20 minutes before I was going to leave, and coincidentally, 20 minutes before 6:00pm. I just couldn't "hold it". My plan was to do some light reading to run down the clock -- worst decision ever. The result was that I ended up leaving about 40 minutes late, which ended up with this happening.
The details before my slumber are quite clear in my head. I was feeling extremely drowsy, no one was left in the office except one guy whom I thought just left, so I rested my eyes. This was common practice throughout four years of high school and four years of college. Not once can I recall ever successfully falling asleep at either venue. To add insult to injury, I was pretty well rested today, as opposed to the previous sleep-deprived day. Damn. I must be getting old.
'ate my Job
Yes, I hate my job and am bored as hell with the mundane tasks I do. However, it's still a priority of mine to do the crappy job to the best of my ability -- even if it leads nowhere and I want out. That includes not falling asleep...
What do you mean, "again"?
Again, not as bad as it sounds. It was roughly a year ago and it was the exact same situation: about 20 minutes before leaving and I woke up an hour later. The bad thing was that my desk was right beside a well used stairwell, so the chance of being caught was higher. This was the first time ever. Regardless, either no one cared or no one saw since I'm still working there now. Fingers crossed this time!
